Nothing remains unchanged.
The ancient monoliths and barrows found in our landscapes, even these erode and shift.
Variable States is an electronic journey through a state of change. Not violent or sudden, but rather gradual and subtle. Formed around the beautiful sound of the Moog One synthesizer, the five states create a suite (performed in D minor).

Composed and performed by Avebury Sounds
Avebury Sounds is the artist name for theatre composer and sound designer Simon Arrowsmith. Arrowsmith’s work sits mostly at the intersection of electric and chamber orchestral work and has its aesthetic firmly rooted in the strange and the folk horror of the 1970s. Born on the fringes of the mystical Neolithic site of Avebury in Wiltshire, Arrowsmith has always sought out the strange and fantastical. Avebury Sounds is the continuing exploration of everything that is weird and wonderful about the fusion of electronic music with the magical.
